INTRODUCTORY CLASS
$60.00 for Two 2-Hour Classes

For beginners or to refresh skills. All tools and supplies provided to make a panel you will take home with you.

This class is taught in the copper foil method made popular by Louis Comfort Tiffany. This method is very versatile and will prepare students to make anything from intricate boxes to large architectural panels. Students will learn how to cut, shape and foil glass, as well as how to solder and finish the metal. After the introductory class, students will have the skills to complete a project of their own choice. Completion of the Introductory Class, or prior experience, is required to enroll in open class sessions.

 LEAD SAFETY

Handling lead poses a risk of lead poisoning if certain precautions are not followed. Lead cannot be absorbed through the skin, but can be absorbed through ingestion or an open cut. Therefore, follow these basic safety rules: always wash hands well with an abrasive soap after working with lead. ( We recommend D-Lead hand soap, made to remove heavy metals. )
NEVER eat, drink or smoke while working. Always bandage any open cuts on hands or fingers. Solder in a well ventilated area with a fan, smoke absorber or fume trap. Keep children away from work area!

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear comfortable clothes you won't mind getting dirty and/or an apron.
A big old tee-shirt works well too. The studio can be cold or warm: dress appropriately.
No open toe shoes!
